3 Fitness Myths That People Need To Know Aren't True!

Hi everyone, for anybody that reads my blog (if anybody does ;)) you may know that I'm really into health and fitness, and there are a few myths out there that really grind my gears at times. Therefore, I thought I would burst the bubble on three fitness myths that many people tend to believe in.

Myth 1: Protein Powders and Workout Supplements Are a Must!

Photo from Google Images
NOOOO! I personally do not believe this is true, and a lot of supplements especially pre-workouts can actually sometimes be quite dangerous to your health. I have seen it time and time again, from fitness gurus to people just getting into fitness, they all think that these powders and supplements are essential to build muscle and lose weight, however this couldn't be further from the truth. In my opinion, HARD WORK is what leads to results, not workout supplements. Fair enough protein powers can be helpful but I don't think they necessary, especially for people who are just looking to lose weight, tone up and become stronger. Like I said before, it all comes down to hard work, exercise and healthy eating.

Myth 2: Exercise Is The End All Be All When It Comes To Weight Loss

Photo from Google Images
While I find that exercise is a vital component when it comes to leading a fit, healthy and active lifestyle it is not the most important thing when it comes to weight loss. The most important thing to remember when it comes to losing weight is to eat a healthy balanced diet. For those of you haven't heard the expression 'abs are made in the kitchen', you have heard it now, and it couldn't be more true, the same expression goes for your entire body. Exercise is what creates and develops the muscle however, diet is the key  ingredient in order for you to actually see the results. Therefore, in order for you to have the banging body that you have always wanted, all you need to remember is the golden rule; 70% Diet 30% Exercise.

Myth 3: Girls Shouldn't Use Heavy Weights

Photo from Google Images
Many of you have probably heard about this myth a million times before and you probably know that it is just that; a myth. However, I just need to reinforce the fact that heavy weights are NOT bad for women. I personally encourage it, I think that weights are great for women in order to tone up and become stronger. Weights alone will not make you body builder bulky, so you don't need to stress about that. Girls shouldn't be scared of lifting heavy weights, because they really are fabulous :)

There you go, three fitness myths busted. I hope that this post has helped some you out :)

5 Quick Tips For Concert Goers

+I love going to concerts! In fact, I just went to the One Direction concert last night and it was absolutely AMAZING as always :) So with that, I thought I would share some of my quick tips for
fellow concert goers, who just love to have a great time and enjoy the music :)

1. Dress Comfortably

In my opinion one of the most important tips for concert goers is to dress comfortably! Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up nicely for a concert, however it's important to be comfortable, especially if you're like myself and love to dance and sing your heart out at concerts. Therefore, I always like to wear a stylish, comfortable outfit with my go to accessory... a bold lip ;)

2. Drink Water

Like I said before, I love to belt out basically every song that is played at a concert, so drinking water is essential. Not only will it keep you hydrated, but it will keep your vocal chords refreshed and you will be dancing and singing all night long.

3. Don't Watch The Concert Through Your Phone/Camera

Every time I go to concert, I see so many people watching the concerts through their devices to ensure they get the 'perfect' video. I mean I'm not going to lie, sometimes I will record a song or two for some memorabilia, but I never record the entire concert or any more than one or two songs, because in reality, who really goes back and watches the concert videos you took yourself over and over again? To me, concerts are all about the experience and being in the moment, I love being able to enjoy myself and the music without having to hold my hand up in the air while making sure my phone is recording properly. So, my advice for everyone wanting to record the entire concert, don't. Just enjoy the atmosphere and the music, because you will always have the memories :)

4. Don't Annoy People With Your Signs

One of my pet hates when it comes to concerts is when the people in front of you hold up massive signs that completely block your view. I mean I don't have a problem with people bringing signs to concerts because the artists always seem to ask to see them at some point, however just leave it that. Don't wave your signs about all concert long, wait until the artist/s ask to see your signs and then put them up, apart from that you need to think of the people behind you and not be rude.

5. Have Fun!

Lastly, the most important tip for all concert goers is to HAVE FUN! In the end, it's all about having a good time because that's what you're there for. You're there to enjoy yourself and let loose. You're there to sing from the top of your lungs and dance around with your friends or those around you. You are there to enjoy the music and have fun :)

From the red carpet to the performances to the awards, I love every minute of it.When I was in high school (which was only a year and half ago), I used to watch all of these awards shows and write down who I predicted/wanted to win along with who actually ended up winning. So, seeing as I'm watching the Grammy's as I write this post, why not do what always do when I watch these awards shows, so with that here goes :)

PERFORMANCES

The show was jam-packed with brilliant performances from extremely talented musicians, so I thought I would share a few of my favourite performances of the night with you :)

Ariana Grande
Ariana Grade's performance of 'Just a Little Bit of Your Heart' was flawless as always, and I was super excited because for those of you who read my 'Three Favourite Albums At The Moment' post, you'll know that 'Just a Little Bit of Your Heart' is my favourite song off her album, so I was super happy that she sang it :)
Side Note: Anna Kendrick was the presenter of the song and my boyfriend loves her, so I thought I'd add that she looked fabulous ;)

Ed Sheeran & John Mayor
Ed Sheeran's performance of 'Thinking Out Loud' with John Mayer  was also a favourite performance of mine from the night. Ed Sheeran can do no wrong when it comes to song-writing, performing and singing beautifully :)

Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney
Another favourite performance of mine was Rihanna's, Kanye West's and Paul McCartney's performance of their new song 'Four Five Seconds'. I am loving that song at the moment, so it was great to hear them sing it fantastically at the Grammy's :)

Sam Smith & Mary J. Blige
Sam Smith and Mary J. Blige's performance of 'Stay With Me' was also quite beautiful :)

Sia
My favourite performance of the night however, would probably have to be Sia's performance of 'Chandelier'. I'm a Dance Moms fan so I was happy that Maddie Ziegler danced alongside special guest Kristen Wiig :) It was a really fun, unique performance,  Sia sounded phenomenal and she's also an Aussie which is always a plus ;)

FASHION

I was also planning on sharing all of my favourites in regards to the fashion at this years Grammy's, however I'm not going to lie, I was quite disappointed, nothing really stood out to me and made me say 'wow'. So with that I thought I would just share photos of my Best Dressed Female and Male along with a mention of the other outfits I liked.

Best Dressed Female: Taylor Swift

Best Dressed Male: Ne-Yo

Other celeb outfits that I liked on this years Grammy Red Carpet included Anna Kendrick, Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, John Mayer and Gwen Stafani.

The Australian Tag

I love to travel! I have travelled to three different countries so far and I loved every minute of it, I can't wait to visit many more. However, even though I love to travel to different countries I can't forget about Australia. Seeing as Australia is my home and is an amazing country I thought why not do the Australian tag? So here goes...

Which state do you live in? The sunshine state, beautiful Queensland :)

What states have you visited around Australia? Apart from Queensland I have only briefly been to New South Wales.

What do you order at Boost Juice? Grape Escape! so good :)

Golden Gaytimes or Pavlovas? Golden Gaytimes for sure.

Cricket or Afl? Definitely cricket. My dad and brother are both great cricket players, so cricket all the way.

Who is your favourite Australian actor/actress? I would have to say Hugh Jackman. He is an amazing actor and I was also lucky enough to meet him and he is genuinely a great guy.

Describe your formal night in high school? The town I come from doesn't have a formal, instead we have a beautiful graduation dinner where the girls dress up in formal dresses and the boys dress up in suits. My graduation was amazing, it was such a great night and I also got to wear a beautiful blue dress, which was probably the best part :) oh and the after party ;)

Do you like vegemite? How do you eat it? I love vegemite! I love eating it on toast (obviously) and on plain biscuits/crackers.

Have you even seen or petted a Kangaroo? Yes and yes. I used to see them every now and then when I was playing Touch Football because they would jump across the field to get to the bushes.

Do you say...
Mate? Yes, quite alot.
G'day? Every now and then.
Jumper or sweater? Jumper.

Overall, what do you think of Australia? I can honestly say that I love it! Australia is a beautiful country and it will ALWAYS be my home. I am so grateful to be an Aussie :)

Seeing as this was a tag, I tag all of you who are reading this to do your own home countries tag. Be sure to let me know if you do, so I can check them out :)
