Favourite Fitness Websites!

If I was going to tell you guys about all of the fitness websites I have come across, I would be writing this all day. So, I thought that instead of telling you about all of the websites I have used, I'll just let you in on my favourite websites for all things health and fitness :)

1. ToneItUp.com

Tone It Up (TIU) is a company run by best friends Karena and Katrina, and their business is absolutely amazing. From fitness videos to nutrition plans to merchandise, these girls have thought of it all, however there is one thing that separates Tone It Up from the rest, and that would have to be their community. The TIU community is a place where you can journalise your favourite healthy foods and workouts, a place to find all new recipes from others, a place to communicate with fellow TIU lovers and much more. The thing I love about Tone It Up is their challenges and their weekly schedules. They have multiple free challenges throughout the year such as the Love Your Body Series (which is happening a the moment), The Bikini Series and the Frisky Fall Challenge. These challenges all go for 8 weeks each and they include new workouts and for those who own the TIU nutrition program, a new edition full of all new yummy recipes. They also post a free weekly schedule each week, telling you what exercises to do each day. It's a really fantastic schedule that is both fun and easy to follow. I also recently bought the TIU nutrition program and it is fabulous, definitely worth the price! So for those of you who haven't checked these girls out make sure you do, they are fantastic :)

2. FitnessBlender.com

Fitness Blender is one of my favourite places to find hardcore, vigorous workouts that really make you sweat. Fitness Blender is a company run by husband and wife Daniel and Kelli and their workouts are honestly fantastic. The thing I love about Fitness Blender is that each workout tells you approximately how many calories you're burning and their website also has an option where you can 'find workouts' and choose the duration, calorie burn and the areas you want to target throughout your workout. Another amazing thing about Fitness Blender is that their workout videos are completely free, which is definitely an added bonus. I have to say that Fitness Blender would probably be my go to website when it comes to workouts, because when I work out I love to go hard and make sure that I'm pushing myself and I know that each Fitness Blender workout will cater to that. So for anybody who hasn't visited this website, you must! Especially if you're looking for fun, hardcore and kick ass workouts :)

3. Pinterest

The last website is Pinterest and while this isn't exactly a fitness website itself, you can find a variety of fabulous workouts, healthy recipes and fitness tips. Pinterest allows you to break down your search results into different categories such as cardio workouts, yoga or weights etc. I have found multiple fitness websites through Pinterest such as PopSugar Fitness, Daily Burn and many  more. So for any of you that haven't visited Pinterest, make sure that you check it out because it has variety of workouts, recipes and fitness advice worth looking at :)

Let me know if guys check out these websites and I would also love to know what websites you use :)

Three Favourite Albums At The Moment!

Happy Australia Day! For those of you who don't know, it's Aus Day here in Australia today, and that means three things: Swimming, BBQ's and alcohol. However, another element that ties in perfectly while doing all of those things is listening to some good music. So I thought why not make a post about the albums that I'm loving at the moment.

Before I get into sharing the albums I am loving at the moment with you, I just wanted to make a point that these albums aren't necessarily my favourite albums of all time, they are just the albums I have on repeat at the moment. With that said, here they are :)

                                                          1. Four- One Direction

I'm not going to lie I have been a One Direction fan from the very beginning. I have all of their albums and so far I have been to two of their concerts and will be attending the third in mid February. I love that their music matures with their fans and I think that's why I have loved each and every one of their albums. However, I must say that their new album 'Four' definitely outdoes the rest, it is amazing. I can honestly say that I love every single song on the album, but if I had to choose a favourite it would probably be the song '18'. For those of you who haven't listened to it yet, I recommend that you do, because even if you aren't a fan of their music, this album may just change your mind.

2. 1989- Taylor Swift

I have always been a fan of Taylor Swift's music, however I have never listened to a full album of hers until she released 1989 and I have to say, I love it. Taylor has an obvious talent when it comes to song writing and it definitely shows through her music. I love how honest she is in her music, because it makes her songs truthful and relatable. I have never really been a fan of country music apart from Taylor Swift, so I love the fact that she released a pop album. I must say that I enjoy every single song on 1989, but my favourite at the moment would have to be 'Wonderland'. If you haven't listened to this album yet, I recommend that you do because it's truly fantastic.

3. My Everything- Ariana Grande
I have been a fan of Ariana Grande from the moment she released 'The Way' and then I bought her first album and  I absolutely loved it. I love this new album too, however there are some songs that I like better than others. Ariana has such an amazingly powerful voice that I could listen to all day long. I especially love her ballads. My favourite song on this album would probably be 'Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart'. I recommend that for those of you who haven't listened to this album yet, you definitely should because there are a handful of songs that are absolutely amazing.

There you go. My three favourite albums at the moment :) Let me know if you like the albums that I have mentioned above or let me know what your favourites are, I'd love to see what you think.

My Favourite Book Series

Today the weather where I live has been stormy, cold and rainy, so what better way to spend a day like this than watching movies and reading books? So in honour of this weather I thought I would share my favourite book series to date.

I love reading a good book, especially on those days when you have nothing to do and you just want to curl up in bed. My favourite book series to do just that with is the 'I Heart" series, written by Lindsey Kelk. The 'I Heart' books are fabulous , entertaining and easy books to read. They are books that you just can't put down.

The series starts with 'I Heart New York' and trust me it's a fantastic book that introduces the series tremendously. The series is based on a 20 something year old woman named Angela Clark who lives in London. However, due to some disastrous situations, Angela decides to buy a one way ticket to New York. The book then follows Angela on her adventures in New York, from making new friends, finding a new job and of course, falling in love :)

The next book in the series is 'I Heart Hollywood', and in this book Angela is sent to Hollywood on a work assignment. Again, this book comes with all new dramas and challenges that Angela has to face while also trying not to get fired from her dream job and trying to ensure her relationship with her boyfriend survives.

The third book in the series is 'I Heart Paris, this book is supposed to be about a romantic getaway to Paris with her boyfriend, however Angela gets herself into all sorts of trouble. Once again there are work and friend troubles however the main issue in this book revolves around Angela's boyfriends crazy ex-girlfriend.

The fourth book is 'I Heart Las Vegas', and I'm sure you can tell from the title, Angela once again finds herself in all kinds of troublesome situations  in Vegas. After something happens that completely brings Angela's life to a screeching halt, a girls weekend in Vegas is supposed to be an ideal way to forget all of her problems, but obviously that’s not quite the case.

The fifth book in the series is 'I Heart London', this book takes Angela back to her home town in London, and once again all kinds of chaos arises for Angela. From her childhood best friend's baby to Angela's horrible ex-boyfriend, going home isn't as homely as it should be for Angela.

The final book in the series (cries:() is 'I Heart Christmas' and as you can obviously tell by the title it's Christmas time, but of course the unexpected always happens when it comes to Angela. From a new job, to her crazy best friends, to friends unexpectedly rocking up on her doorstep and her man wanting to start settling down, Angela's Christmas begins to wreak havoc.

So there you go, a brief overview of the 'I Heart Series'. As I said before the author of this fantastic series  is Lindsey Kelk. Kelk is such an amazing writer and story teller and her other books are fabulous as well :) The 'I Heart' series is honestly the best I have read so far, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Easy and Delicious Green Smoothies!

So, today I was initially planning on doing a workout post, but seeing as it is literally so unbelievably HOT today I probably won't workout until this afternoon. Seeing as I still wanted this post to focus on health and fitness, I thought that I might share some of my favourite, super easy GREEN SMOOTHIES! Mmmmmm.

Some of the best green smoothies are chocked full of yummy superfoods, which are fabulous! However, sometimes when I just feel like making a simple, affordable and easy green smoothie with only a few key ingredients, these recipes that I'm about to share are perfect for just that.

The first recipe that I will share is the easiest of them all, and it only involves two ingredients. Banana and Spinach... oh and some cold water. This recipe is super easy and super delicious and all you  have to do is throw 1 frozen banana, a handful of spinach and some cold water/coconut water into a blender and blend it up. Pour it into a mason jar and then you're ready to go.

Another yummy green smoothie includes 1 frozen banana, 1 green apple, a handful of spinach and some cold water/coconut water. Repeat the same procedures as the first recipe and voila!

The final super easy green smoothie recipe that I will share with you is more of a green juice, and it's probably my favourite refreshment out of the three. This recipe includes 1 frozen banana, a handful of frozen grapes, a scoop of pineapple pieces, a handful of spinach and some cold water/coconut water. Once again repeat the same procedure as the recipes stated above and BAM a delicious green juice is ready for you to drink up.

A quick tip is to freeze all of your ingredients in a plastic sandwich bag so that all of your ingredients are in one place ready to go :)

The Green Smoothie shown in the photos is from the first recipe. Banana, Spinach and cold water :) I had one today. Mmmm.

Luscious Lipstick Colours

If I am being completely honest, I don’t tend to wear make-up on a daily basis, or very often at all. Unless of course, it's a special occasion or if I just feel like experimenting a little. I do however, love wearing lipstick! I'm a girl that's a big fan of colour, so I love being able to rock a bright bold lip colour whenever I please, so I thought why not share some of my favourite lip colours in this post.

  1. Red- Lets be real here, there's no better lip colour then a bright bold red. Red is also my favourite colour and I feel like it's a colour that just oozes confidence. I also find a red lip very glamorous when worn correctly.

  1. Berry/Purple- I love a berry/purple lipstick. It's a very different colour and probably my favourite winter lip colour. There's just something about a berry/purple lip colour that I find extremely mysterious and magical.

  1. Hot Pink- A hot pink lip is definitely my party favourite. It's an extremely bright pop of colour that is so fresh and fun. A hot pink lip is very electrifying and exciting.

  1. Coral- When I think of a coral lip colour I immediately think of mermaids, and I LOVE mermaids. There's just something about a coral lip that I find beachy and delightful.

  1. Pink- Pink is the everyday lip colour, perfect for those days when you just want to put some extra colour into those lips of yours. I would say that it is a go-to lip colour. I feel like a pink lip is very elegant and graceful.

  1. Mauve- A mauve lip is perfect for those days when you're going for the grunge look. Mauve lips are very cool and punk-rock.

So there you go, some of my favourite lip colours :)

Lipsticks used in the photos are:

Maybelline in On The Mauve 445

Passions and Interests

Seeing as I'm new to the 'blogosphere' I thought that I would share my passions and interests. That way there can be some insight into what I will actually be blogging about.

Travel

I definitely have the travel bug. Travelling is something that is actually really important to me and something I am really passionate about. There's nothing I would rather do. Visiting different countries and experiencing different cultures is so fascinating to me. I have been lucky enough to have travelled to three different countries so far. America was the first, a quick trip to Canada was second and then I went on a school ski trip to New Zealand in my final year of high school. All of those countries offered new experiences and new friends that I will never forget, and I honestly can't wait for my next adventure.

Health & Fitness

If I am being completely honest health & fitness didn’t really resonate with me until I started my first year of university. I mean I obviously knew the importance of it but I didn't really take time to understand all of the science behind it. I think that my mum was one of the main reasons as to why I started to find health & fitness so interesting and exercising so enjoyable. She is a trainer herself, and fitness is her passion. When I left home, I started to realise where she was coming from, and I am so happy that I am now passionate about health & fitness too. It's honestly a form of therapy to me and there's no better feeling after completing a hard, sweaty, vigorous workout :)

Theatre/Performance

My passion for theatre and performing in front of an audience initially began in grade 9 when I was a dancer in the school musical. From that moment on I have thrived off performing in front of an audience whether it be acting, singing or dancing. In grade 11, I was lucky enough to receive a main character role in the school musical and in grade 12 I performed in multiple skits where I had to act, sing and dance in the school production. I also studied drama all throughout high school and in my final year I was awarded the top student of drama, which I was extremely happy about :) Seeing as drama was most definitely my favourite subject in school and something I felt I was quite good at, it felt really good to be recognised as the top student :)

Music

I think this is a given. I mean music is something that can help with any mood and any situation. Whether, I'm happy or sad or whether I'm exercising, studying, getting ready to go out with some friends, or just hanging out in my room, there's always a song, album, artist or playlist that is just perfect for it. Music is just amazing, and I'm not going to lie, I do love occasionally belting out my favourite songs ;)

Celebrity Culture

I know to some people this may seem silly, but ever since I could remember I have watched E! News and it was actually the reason why I decided to study journalism at uni. The thought of interviewing celebrities on the red carpet has always been so fascinating and exciting to me and working at E! would definitely be one of my dream jobs.

So there we go, there's just a little bit of insight into what my interests are and what I am passionate about :)
